Project reviews moving forward
Project team representatives from the Department of Administration, Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, UW System, UW–Madison and the dairy industry are currently focusing on a variety of reviews aimed at moving the project forward.
The team is working to identify a risk-management firm to conduct a 3rd-party review of the project. The team also continues to review project plans to find ways to reduce costs and ensure construction goes well. In the meantime, expert engineers from the state Division of Facilities Management and UW–Madison’s Division of Facilities, Planning and Management are reviewing all elements of the plan, including structure, power and utility details.
Results of these reviews will inform decisions about the project timeline, scope and budget. The project team will meet frequently in June and expects to have details about potential changes to the construction schedule in early July. Dairy Plant and CDR operations continue as usual and work at the site continues, with construction of footings for the new addition currently underway.
