A story in the July 8, 2016 edition of the Cheese Market News outlined industry concerns about increases in the proposed size and scope of the state project at Babcock Hall. As the project neared design completion, it had increased in size, added additional equipment and exceeded the approved $32.5 million budget. Donors and other industry groups expressed deep concerns to UW-Madison CALS Dean Kate VandenBosch and other leaders at UW-Madison and the State of Wisconsin.
